Idaho Springs to Bakerville (and perhaps Loveland Valley)
September 1 @ 9:00 am - 1:30 pm
Labor Day Weekend. We meet at the parking lot by the rec center at Exit 240 but parking is where you find it. Most nearby parking is restricted to residents or is a pay to park lot. Once on our wheels we can stay off of the heavily traveled roads by leaving Idaho Springs and taking the ‘frontage road’ that goes to Georgetown. Then we take the bike path to Silver Plume then more ‘frontage road’ that ends up in Bakerville. Heading back from Bakerville gives us a good 38.6 mile ride. HOWEVER, last year a group wanted to take advantage of the good weather and they went the extra 4.9 miles up the bike path to the Loveland Valley ski area. That extra leg adds about 10 miles to the total and also adds about 915 feet of vertical. As long as the leader knows the plans, people can opt for the extra, . . .. or not.
