Ride Day Information
The 22nd Annual Triple Bypass is right around the corner and we are praying for sunny skies and tailwinds. But, as we all know, this is Colorado and the chances of seeing a rain-free day (especially at 11,000 feet) are slim. That said - don't forget your rain gear on ride day! You can count on encountering rain at some point during the day, so appropriate rain gear is mandatory.
Other Required Items for All Registered Triple Riders include:
ORANGE RIDER WRISTBAND PROVIDED IN YOUR RIDER PACKET. Don't forget to pick up your packet ahead of time. Packets will NOT be transferred from store locations to the start area on ride day. Your wristband will allow access to road closures on the route, amenities at the Aid Stations and is your ticket for the Finish Line BBQ! Riders will be asked to show the wristband to gain access at various check points throughout the ride. Please be prepared to show your wristband whenever asked by marshals along the course.
If you lose or forget to bring your wristband on ride day you will be required to get another one at the Packet Pickup tent in Bergen Park. You will need to present identification and pay a replacement fee to obtain another band.
HELMET NUMBERS - will be provided again this year, in the form of stickers. Apply your sticker to your helmet front and center -- so the marshals can identify you as you approach. The sticker is required, as is a helmet.
BRING ID - We want to remind riders to always carry some form of identification with you and not to rely on your rider number.
START AREA:
Riders may depart at their own convenience between 5:30 and 7:30 a.m. Packet Pickup will open at 5:00am. Packet pickup will take place at Bergen Park (next to the RTD lot). Course support will begin at 6:00 a.m.
If you have already picked up your packet or had it mailed directly to you, you DO NOT need to come to Bergen Park; you can proceed directly to the start line at the intersection of Evergreen Parkway and Squaw Pass Road.
START LINE:
The official start line for the ride is located at the intersection of Evergreen Parkway and Squaw Pass Road in Evergreen, CO.
LUGGAGE TRANSPORT:
A luggage drop will be available in Bergen Park, next to the packet pickup tent. We will also have "satellite" manned luggage drops located at the Castle Court parking location and at Bergen Valley Elementary School. Luggage will be trucked up to the finish area at Avon. Men's and Women's changing tents will be available next to Luggage Pick up in Avon.
START AREA RIDER DROP-OFF:
If possible, please carpool to the start area. Visit RideBuzz.org for carpool options. With 3,500 riders that means a lot of cars! If you are lucky enough to have a chauffeur on ride morning, you can be dropped off at the rider drop off area (which is located directly across from the Bergen Park RTD lot on the north side of Colo 65.
START AREA PARKING:
Limited parking will be available near the start area. Various lots will be clearly marked and volunteers will be on site to assist riders to find spots beginning at 5:00am. Cars will be allowed to park overnight on Saturday (July 10) only in approved parking lots (ask your volunteer lot monitor if you are unsure). For those wishing to park overnight on Friday night (July 9) we ask that you park at the Bergen Valley Elementary lot (portalets and luggage check will be available on the morning of the ride in this lot). Please heed "NO PARKING" signs that will be located at various businesses and parking lots. We ask your consideration in regard to local homeowners and businesses.

Colorado State Patrol and local officials will issue citations for failure to do so. For the safety of all - Headphones of any sort are NOT allowed.
ALL WEATHER GEAR:
Colorado weather changes quickly, especially at Triple Bypass altitudes. It is highly suggested that all participants carry clothing suitable for hot and cold temperatures, and wet and dry weather. Appropriate rain gear is mandatory.
MECHANICAL SUPPORT:
Bike Source, Wheat Ridge Cyclery and Bicycle Outfitters will provide mechanical support and will be located at each aid station; however, riders are encouraged to carry patch kits, spare tubes, pumps and tools.
MEDICAL SUPPORT:
Trained medical volunteers will be on hand to provide medical support, but it is recommended that cyclists carry their own first aid kits and be prepared to deal with minor medical problems. Riders should bring any medications they use as part of their regular training (ie Advil or Aspirin) as our volunteers are not allowed to distribute meds.
PRIVATE SUPPORT VEHICLES:
Due to the increased number of private support vehicles that accompany riders on the Triple Bypass and for the safety of the tour participants and official support personnel, Team Evergreen would like to ask that all private support vehicles read and adhere to the Alternate Route Instructions. A downloadable version is available here. Due to limited space and road closures, private support vehicles will NOT be allowed at the Squaw Pass Aid station or at the Georgetown Aid Station. These instructions are being provided in the interest of safety for participants of the ride, volunteers and support personnel, as well as motorists and residents of the towns we ride through. We thank you for your cooperation.
