by Jennifer Barbour, Executive Director, TEC
We could not have asked for a more beautiful bluebird day to celebrate the end of the 2013 cycling season. Held at the Evergreen Lake House, Oktoberfest 2013 was well attended with nearly 150 Team Evergreen members and guests enjoying this Team Evergreen October tradition. Attendees caught up with friends, noshed food prepared by Café at the Place and enjoyed beer and wine hand selected by our own Bob Campbell (who was not in attendance because he was “crushing it” in Costa Rica, for the infamous La Ruta mountain bike race).
Jenny Anderson, Ride Director for the Triple Bypass, acknowledged some of our hardest working Triple Bypass volunteer groups and handed out checks to the chosen organizations to benefit from funds raised by this great event. Among the recipients are: the Special Olympics, The Evergreen Area Chamber of Commerce and PEO and the Friendship Bridge. We are so grateful to the fantastic organizations that provide the support and time to make the Triple Bypass a success year after year.
President Peter Morales gave a few words of remembrance for TE members Bill Domenico, Art Field and David Lucks, long-time, active TE members that have passed this year. They will be missed.
The 2014 mountain and road ride schedules are up-to-date and many riders at the Oktoberfest event took the opportunity to sign up as ride leaders. There are still slots available for those wanting to lead in 2014 and we will have the list our new website (to be launched at the end of November – eek!) and, of course, at the Ride Leaders dinner on January 25th.
Thank You For Joining In
Oktoberfest 2013 was a fantastic way to take in a road or mountain ride under the gorgeous Colorado sun and celebrate with other members the completion of yet another awesome year with Team Evergreen.
