Work Day at Buff Creek With COMBA
September 23 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
We’re back at it again in 2017, and this year we really need to step on the gas to get much-needed additional repairs and critical trail re-alignments completed on Buck Gulch, Strawberry Jack, Little Scraggy, the Colorado Trail, and many of the other 21 trails that comprise the Buffalo Creek system. In order to do this, we need volunteers like you! COMBA provides the tools and the guidance. No experience is necessary – if you can use a shovel, you are a valuable volunteer!
For each workday, we will meet at 9:00 AM for a quick mission briefing and tools talk. COMBA will provide coffee, juice, and a light breakfast with bagels or muffins. We then split into groups of 6-10, each led by an experienced COMBA trail crew leader, before heading up the trail at 9:30 AM to begin the day’s work. We normally break for lunch just after noon for 30 minutes, then continue working until approximately 3:00 PM, at which point we head back to the staging area for a sponsored cookout of brats & burgers (including vegetarian burgers) with beverages, followed by an optional ride for those with enough energy left. For the weekend work parties, feel free to come for a day or spend the weekend and camp with us.
